My “I’m Eating Carbs Today” Was A Big, Fat Bust …

“Beige Craze.  Ecru Daze.  Tan Haze.”

Yep, I Know What I Said About Bloating

… And, Over-Loading On Starchy Carbs.

Sounded Like A Blast … It Wasn’t …

Got Right Back To Noshing My Way Through …

Purple Cauliflower.  Yellow & Red Peppers.  Crimson Radicchio.

Tri-Color Carrots.  Licoricey Fennel.  Broccoli Florets.

Nooooo, not the Taters. I only eat them when I am out. They are even part of my Death Row Meal. You remind me of when I worked with a pseudo vegetarian many, many years ago. An okay part of her rainbow diet was huge bags of colourful jelly beans and skittles. By the way, this was in a dental office.

Pseudo Vegetarians – Faux Vegans … can be a curious and hypocritical tribe. Darn, I’ve never considered my Death Row Meal but olives would be on it. Ice cream, too, as I’m lactose intolerant and if I’m going down, why not chocolate as well. Gummy Bears are about the only candy I’ll eat.

I for one love fennel. Not many people do. I love the crunch and the taste. Raw especially, but also lightly steamed with a bit of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. So. Good. When it’s on sale I get a lot. AND, my family, including the kids, love it too.

I tried growing it once but it didn’t take…the bulb didn’t get nice and thick. Too bad.

Anyway, I understand how carbs can make you feel the way you described. I feel so much better when I don’t eat as many, or no, carbs. Of course last night’s lasagna was delicious but now I probably won’t have pasta for at least 2-3 weeks. 🙂
